I believe healthy relationships are essential to our wellbeing.
Stress, emotional shutdown, anger, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression & grief can stem from trying to navigate relationships. I offer counselling, in-person or by video including evenings & weekends. I understand the importance of timely support when you are struggling & aim to be in touch with you within 24hrs of your initial enquiry and arrange your first session within a week.
Harmonious relationships are integral to our wellbeing. Difficulties in key relationships can derail us. My counselling program can help you restore, have clarity and get on a new and better track.
Give it a try, make the change.
Relationships with colleagues, a partner, your children, parents, friends, or even with yourself can be very challenging. I can support you through this by listening in confidence and without judgement, offering you a safe space to speak freely and make sense of your situation. By combining talking therapy with practical coping methods for feelings and behaviours, your emotional balance can be restored. With renewed insight and resilience, we can find ways to maintain your wellbeing, embrace positive change, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Together, we can build on this progress, discover new possibilities, and help you move towards the changes you want in your life
As well as my private practice, I work at a nearby GP practice where I support individuals in their emotional & mental well-being. Prior to being a counsellor I was, for three years, a listener for Samaritans. I understand the importance of sharing & being heard. I have built on & developed these essential listening & communication skills. I can help you to truly listen to & connect with yourself and others, using your new understanding and enhanced communication skills.
You have recognised that you need change, you need to restore & reset; you want better and you have taken the first step by looking for a counsellor – well done, it is an achievement & you can build on it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I will then contact you to arrange a time that suits us both for you to have a free introductory 15 min phone call. It’s an opportunity to discuss briefly what may be going on for you, answer any questions you may have of the therapy process and to arrange a time for your first appointment.
Your sessions can be in person at my room in Coleraine or I am also trained in online and telephone counselling and I am very comfortable offering counselling this way. Up to date research informs us that in many situations online and telephone counselling is as effective as face to face and in some circumstances it can be better.
The initial appointment will be an opportunity for both you and me to assess our compatibility and the suitability of the therapy I can offer. You are then able to make an informed choice whether to continue, additionally if I believe a more appropriate service is available, I can signpost and explore options with you. I will ask you what brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve, what your counselling goal is. I will talk with you about the approaches that could be of benefit to you and together we will start to identify a pathway for our work.
